As followers of Christ being in a Christ centered marriage has a different foundation and agenda than what you may have envisioned when you said, “I do”. Your expectations of your spouse may be unrealistic or based in experiences from your past or childhood that you may have believed would be lived in out your marriages. When these expectations are not met, we can become manipulative to get the spouse to meet those expectations. We can also find that past pain, wounds or traumas can begin to manifest themselves in our marriage relationships.
